What is Azure
Azure is a public cloud service provided by Microsoft. AWS is another popular cloud service provided by Amazon.
What is Cloud?
Cloud is the delivery of computing services such as servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics and more over the Internet. Companies offering these computing services are called cloud providers and typically charge for cloud computing services based on usage.
Following are a few of the things you can do with the cloud:

Microsoft is one of the leaders in cloud service providers, competing with Amazon Web Services a subsidiary of Amazon.
Google is another cloud service provider catching up with Azure and AWS.
IBM, VMWare are among another few niche players in the market.
What are different type of Clouds
There are three type of clouds: public, private, hybrid.
There are three different ways to deploy cloud computing resources: public cloud, private and hybrid cloud.
Public clouds are owned and operated by a third-party cloud service provider like Microsoft, which deliver their computing resources like servers and storage over the Internet. Microsoft Azure is an example of a public cloud.
A private cloud can be physically located on the company’s on-site data center. A private cloud is one in which the services and infrastructure are maintained on a private network.Microsoft Azure Stack is an example of a private cloud.
Hybrid clouds combine public and private clouds, that allows data and applications to be shared between them. By allowing data and applications to move between private and public clouds, hybrid cloud gives businesses greater flexibility and more deployment options.

Software as a service (SaaS)
Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is a method for delivering software applications over the Internet, on demand and typically on a subscription basis. With SaaS, cloud providers host and manage the software application and underlying infrastructure and handle any maintenance, like software upgrades and security patching. Users connect to the application over the Internet, usually with a web browser on their phone, tablet or PC.
